Jaguar E Type Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe 3.8
1962 Jaguar E Type series 1 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe chassis 860625 orig RHD
This is a superb example of an early original right hand drive series 1 fixed head coupe in a newly rebuilt condition.
Built in May 1962 this car was originally Carmen Red. With black interior, and was supplied in June 1962 through Henlys of London to Mr. Shane Clifford Burrow. The car was initially registered 114 GDA on the 1st September 1962. In the later 60s and 70s it had a number of owners in and around Surrey and Hampshire, at which point its
registration was changed to 5555 UK. The car comes with its original green log book and Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
The E Type was later exported to Canada where little of its history was known until it was purchased by Mr. Robert Buchanan, and ex-pat Scottish classic Jaguar enthusiast living in Edmonton, Alberta. He and his partner carried out a comprehensive restoration, both structural and mechanical. Owing to Robert's partners sudden ill -health, the restoration was never fully completed, and at this time the car was purchased in Canada by us, and re-imported to the UK. We then used our specialist Jaguar mechanic to review every aspect of the car, rectify and improve numerous aspects, and complete the car to the superb standard it is in today.
The car has a correct period E Type 3.8 engine, and also comes with its original engine block as an addition. According to Philip Porter's 'Original E Type' book, this car is one of the very last 'flat floor' cars according to the body number, though it now has new dished heel recesses, in new floors.
Beautifully finished in Jaguar Opalescent Silver Grey with re-trimmed black leather interior, this early series 1 E Type is a pleasure to look at, and even better to drive!
This fabulous car may be viewed in Dorset.
