Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe
Originally supplied by Jaguar Cars Limited of New York to Mr. Roy McNabney of Coffeyville, Kansas. By 1984 the car was in the ownership of Mr. John Donald of Kansas City. He owned the 150 until 1995 when the car was sold by him to an owner in Orange County, California where the car lived for the remainder of it’s time in the USA.
The XK150 was purchased in 2009 by Mr. Bas Fahner of Bleiswijk, Holland and he imported the car from the USA. He registered the car for the road in Holland. In September 2009 the XK 150 was bought by Dr. Michele Lucciola of Rome, a classic Jaguar enthusiast and collector.
This is a genuine dry states car that has never had a full re-build. It therefore retains very straight wing and door lines, and door shut gaps, and an excellent rust free original chassis and underbody
The XK150 was then extensively refurbished during 2010 and 11, including a bare metal re-paint, to it’s original Carmen Red, re-chrome and re-trim, including the hood. Much mechanical work was also done at this time. The work was carried out by a classic Jaguar specialist in Rome, Bordelli Engineering where Dr. Lucciola has all of his classic Jaguars looked after.
In 2013 the car was bought by Paul Abadjian of UK classic Jaguar specialist Retro Classics who flew to Rome to view and drive the car, and imported it personally.
Since importation and registering in the UK, it has been subjected to a thorough mechanical review by a UK Jaguar specialist, and any work needed was duly done. A list of the work done is available.
It is an early example of the model, featuring the rare aluminium centre dash panel, and is fully numbers matching, and comes with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
It is in really excellent structural, mechanical and cosmetic condition, and runs and drives very well indeed. The gearing is such that it can cruise at high speed with surprisingly low revs., similar to an overdrive car. We have used the car extensively ourselves through the summer, so it is well-proven, and is a delight to drive.
